Success Story: Van Giang

Van is the CEO of International IT Resources (iITr) which was founded in 2003. He started at iITr in January 2011. His key responsibility is to help expand the company’s business to cover The Region which includes Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN), Taiwan, and Hong Kong. iITr’s key contributor to customer satisfaction is their ability to quickly and accurately identify the needs of their customers and provide the right solutions to meet those needs and that’s where Van’s superior presentation skills come into play. Prior to iITr, Van worked for Compuware for ten years and his last two roles at Compuware were APAC Enterprise Sales Manager and then ANZ Regional Sales Director. It was at Compuware that he worked with, and was coached by Michelle on Advanced Persuasive Presentation Skills.

What did Van say after attending Michelle’s Persuasive Presentation Skills Masterclass?

“Michelle Bowden is simply brilliant! She is knowledgable, serious and passionate about her work. Her Masterclass is awesome. She’s helped me a great deal in both business and non-business dealings., I’d highly recommend Michelle and her work to anyone who wants to improve their presentation and communications skills.”

What kind of presenting do you do at work?

I mostly present in sales presentations to customers and partners.

What prompted you to attend Michelle’s Persuasive Presentation Skills Masterclass?

Compuware took it’s employee development very seriously when I joined the business. Michelle’s Masterclass was the program everyone did; especially pre-sales, sales and management. Our executive wanted everyone presenting better than our competitors.

How did Michelle’s program change your attitude to presenting in business?

More than 15 years later, Michelle’s program still gives me a great “framework” that helps me build good presentations and communicate more effectively using less time.

In general, what positive outcomes have you achieved from improving your presentation skills?

The presentations I have delivered as a result of Michelle’s “framework” are easy to follow, interesting and engaging for the audience. Generally speaking, presentations are a key part of a sales cycle. Good presentations create a good impression on the customers and help shorten the sales cycle.

In what specific ways have your presentation skills improved since completing Michelle’s Masterclass?

With the 4Mat and Michelle’s 13 steps my presentations can be prepared much faster and are more likely to achieve the results we need such as win the pitch, update effectively, convince or up-sell.

What were your top three take away from Michelle’s Masterclass?

  1. I enjoyed the good presentation ‘framework’ that helps you prepare presentations faster and more effectively.
  2. I now make clear, interesting, and engaging presentations that achieve results.
  3. Working with Michelle as a person is a great pleasure and highly recommended.
