What kind of presenting do you do at work?

In my role, I do a lot of new season strategy presentations to the retailers showcasing our new product launches. These are usually to one or two retail managers each time. I have 17 stores in my zone and have to present to all 17 accounts every 6 months. I’m also involved in negotiations with these stores on a weekly basis, which in some ways is a form of presenting. Every once in a while, I’m also involved in group presentations to our Counter teams.

What prompted you to attend Michelle’s Persuasive Presentation Skills Masterclass?

I was enrolled in the masterclass through work. I had heard great feedback from colleagues who attended the masterclass and was excited to be involved. I am extremely glad to have been given the opportunity.

How did Michelle’s Masterclass change your attitude to presenting in business?

I definitely have greater confidence now. I love having a very specific structure to refer to when putting a presentation together. I feel better prepared and better able to get my message across clearly. Shifting my thinking away from how I feel to focusing on the audience definitely helps with the nerves. As Michelle said, “It’s not about you, it’s about the audience”.

What outcomes have you achieved from improving your presentation skills?

I love that I have a greater sense of confidence knowing that I am always fully prepared, whether it’s for a one-on-one meeting or in front of a group. I also love the time that I save having a structure to follow. Preparing for a presentation is so much quicker and easier now!

In what ways have your presentation skills improved since completing Michelle’s training?

I have had many negotiations with retail managers since Michelle’s masterclass. I used the 13 step structure to prepare quickly and effortlessly prior to the meetings and I’m happy to report that the outcomes have been just what I wanted.

What were your top three take aways from Michelle’s program?

  1. It’s not about you, it’s about the audience.
  2. 13 Steps for structuring your message.
  3. Storyboarding to brainstorm your ideas then structure them.
