What kind of presenting do you do at work?
I present to clients and potential clients quite often and I also present to staff and franchisees for training purposes.
What prompted you to attend Michelle’s Persuasive Presentation Skills Masterclass?
After reading Michelle’s e-book “Stop! Your PowerPoint is Killing Me”, I realised I still had so much more to learn when it came to presenting! I was about to present two days of training for our new franchisees and I just wanted to be the best I could at presenting. So when a spot came up in her Melbourne program, of course, I jumped at it.
How did Michelle’s program change your attitude to presenting in business?
I realised the importance of structure and also the importance of engaging with people – and in fact, I was shocked at just how disengaging some presentations can be. When you’re trying to communicate such important information in a small space of time, and on mass, you really need to make every second count.
In general, what positive outcomes have you achieved from improving your presentation skills?
I present often to clients, both privately and in forums. Sometimes the subject matter can be quite heavy and perhaps a little boring. the good news is that by employing the skills I have gathered from Michelle I think I am now presenting in a more engaging manner for my audience.
How have improved presentation skills have impacted on your job and your career in general?
As the Director of The Successful Investor I feel I am now showcasing our company (and myself) in a more professional manner. I now have a presentation structure from start to finish. I don’t mean just the PowerPoint presentation! I plan my goals to start with, and then everything I really need to say from the start until the presentation is completed. I really like following a set structure that I know will work.
What were your top three take aways from Michelle’s program?
