Jeremy Corben works at Endeavour Drinks Group as a Data Analyst – in the Delivery and Fulfilment space. He enjoys digging into data and uncovering something interesting and building helpful reports in Power BI. He is based in Sydney and outside of work he enjoys cycling.
What kind of presenting do you do at work?
I present my analysis findings and I take people through Power BI reports that I have created from them to use. At the moment they are all done online via Google Hangouts as we are all still working from home.
What prompted you to study with Michelle?
I have always struggled with public speaking and speaking confidently. I could spend a long-time doing analysis, but it would not have a big impact if I could not present it in a way that engaged the audience and moved them.
I heard that Michelle was involved in an exciting partnership with AlphaZetta (who are delivering a series of excellent development opportunities for Endeadour Drinks). I took Michelle’s Persuasive Presentation Skills Masterclass in the hope that I would be able to improve my confidence and present more impressively.
How did Michelle's teaching change your attitude to presenting in business?
I feel like I now have a plan to follow, instead of going in and winging it. This makes me feel more confident when I am going to present something. I am now less likely to avoid doing a presentation.
In general, what positive outcomes have you achieved from improving your presentation skills?
I’ve been asked to present to more senior stakeholders and share my findings more widely so I feel like I’m helping the organisation more while also increasing my exposure.

In what specific ways have your presentation skills improved since learning with Michelle?
I have a plan to follow – mainly the introduction and ending – which is what I always struggled with. I enjoy having a specific plan to follow – it is like a formula which (as someone who like maths) I really like.
What were your top three take-aways from Michelle's masterclass?
1. How to deliver a good introduction to catch someone’s attention and get them engaged throughout the presentation.
2. How to deliver a good summary to ensure the audience walk away remembering the information you want.
3. What should be in the slide presentation and what you should place on a handout or link. I learnt it’s not really about the slides, they are for the audience to remember the key messages and your Persuasion Blueprint is your script.
